Honoring Tradition, Inspiring Creativity

2022, is the beginning of our journey as a local brand. Ki.Basic was born in a village named Rhepang Muaib in the Grime Valley, Papua. Our brand mission is to develop local traditions into a product that can be used by various groups.

Without eliminating the traditional values and practices in making a knitted Noken, together with the Noken knitters who are mostly mothers (housewives), we launched our first product, a clutch named Namu.

Namblong women or in the local language called "Namblong Ki", became our biggest inspiration in developing the product. How the Namblong women's group maintains the tradition of harvesting raw materials and the manufacturing process driven us to innovate and develop the traditional practices into daily use fashion item.

We have a dream of preserving the tradition and culture of making Noken, together with a group of the knitters from 3 villages, namely Rhepang Muaib, Ombrob, and Yenggu Baru, we are strongly committed to maintaining natural materials from wood fiber and traditional processes in every product.

Every knit on our product carries the traditional values made directly by the hands of Namblong Ki (Namblong women) in the village. Like raising a child, every product we make goes through a long process and full of love. And to spread our culture, you will find our collections named in the local languages.
